Can I buy a new 3G iPhone at an Apple store and unlock it for T-Mobile at home?

Question by Dana S: Can I buy a new 3G iPhone at an Apple store and unlock it for T-Mobile at home?
I think I may have heard somewhere that you can only unlock/jailbreak the 1st generation of the iPhone. Is this true?

I have T-Mobile and am trying to steer clear of buying a used iPhone from eBay. Any other tutorial sites/links? How in-depth is the unlocking process?

You can unlock & jailbreak the new 3g iPhone, I have done it myself and it runs great.

Although getting the phone is probably the hardest part, you are going to have to find a way to get it outside of AT&T as they wont let you walk out the door with one without starting a contract.

If you already have one though, all you need is a program to jailbreak/activate it, then get a SIM-Card Adapter for your SIM and you will be on the T-Mobile network.

However you also cannot use the 3G network but I dont care anyways as I have Wifi whereever I go so thats faster to me.

Is it possible to trade in old/broken mac laptops at the apple store for credit for the mac book pro?

Question by Kitty K: Is it possible to trade in old/broken mac laptops at the apple store for credit for the mac book pro?
I need a Mac Book Pro by the end of August (a college requirement). A friend of mine was talking about how people could trade in old/broken iPods for credit for new ones at the apple store, and said it might be possible to do the same with Mac laptops.
I have a few older mac laptops, so I was wondering if this was possible?

What is the difference between the MAC counter and MAC store?

Question by s2 xo Dana: What is the difference between the MAC counter and MAC store?
I always wondered what the difference between the MAC counter at Bloomingdales/Nordstrom/Macy’s and the actual MAC store and if the MAC Pro store was the same as the regular store.
Thanks you guys!

A MAC store is just bigger. Sometimes they will have more, but mainly its just that the MAC store is bigger than a MAC counter that you might find in Nordstrom, Macys, etc…
