Oh! and I’m currently not eligable for an upgrade, but can I just sign up for another 2 years and get the iPhone 3G for the $ 99?

How do I convince the Rogers/Bell/Telus sales rep to remove the data plan from an iPhone?

Question by Solid Snake (formerly βling βling™): How do I convince the Rogers/Bell/Telus sales rep to remove the data plan from an iPhone?
I am planning to buy an iPhone 4 soon, and I figured I don’t need 3G as I am surrounded by WiFi for 90% of the day, and it isn’t worth something like $ 15-$ 20 a month just to check my email on the bus.

Are there any tips you can give? Be nice and kind or be aggressive and demanding? Which strategies work best?

Answer by telusguy
If you want to get a subsidized (discounted) price when you buy the phone then it is absolutely required to have a data plan for the duration of the contract. The ONLY way to not have a data plan is to pay full price for the phone. 0 or 0, depending on the model you want.

It can be part of a family plan. You just add a data plan. You share voice and texts with the rest of the plan members.

How much is the iPhone 4g if I cancel my plan immediately?

Question by Tony R: How much is the iPhone 4g if I cancel my plan immediately?
I want to get an iPhone 4g for my girlfriend for her birthday but am planning on canceling the ATT plan with an early termination fee.

How much will the cost of the phone, termination fee and activation fee cost?

Best answer:

Answer by ScσττRΛSC³
9/9 – iPhone 4 (not iPhone 4G) (16GB/32GB)
– Activation Fee
.99 – Voice & Data Plans
5 – Early Termination Fee (you’ll have to wait 30 days to cancel the contract, because they will take the phone back beforehand)

There is a no contract option
9/9 – iPhone 4 (16GB/32GB)
– Activation Fee
.99 – Voice & Data Plans

If you’re planning on putting it on another network make note that cancelling the contract doesn’t unlock it. You will still have to do that on your own.
