Is it possible to trade in old/broken mac laptops at the apple store for credit for the mac book pro?

Question by Kitty K: Is it possible to trade in old/broken mac laptops at the apple store for credit for the mac book pro?
I need a Mac Book Pro by the end of August (a college requirement). A friend of mine was talking about how people could trade in old/broken iPods for credit for new ones at the apple store, and said it might be possible to do the same with Mac laptops.
I have a few older mac laptops, so I was wondering if this was possible?

  1. There is vibrant market for Mac laptops on eBay, and you will get a lot of money toward the purchase of your new MacBook Pro if you sell them there.

  2. Apple sadly does not accept trade-ins for computers. They will recycle it for you, but thats a waste of a computer. If you need the cash I suggest using Ebay or Craislist. If you do not already have an account on Ebay, it may be difficult because many people are wary of buying from a new seller. Otherwise, I would suggest trading it in to Amazon or Best Buy. Also for a cheap mac, I suggest using Macmall, where they guarantee the lowest price, even when coupons or special deals are used (not to mention that you get a free printer, case, and software). I hope this helps.
