I really wanna get into iPhone development, where are some good places to start learning?

I’ve already downloaded the sdk and have everything set up, I’ve made some simple apps from a few limited helloworld tutorials, but I really want to get serious with this and I really don’t know where to look for good lessons in iPhone dev.
Any help at all is appreciated, and iPhone developers, where did you get started?

learn objective c

then go to apple.com and get sdk and read tutorials

get a mac

buy some iphone books from amazon

I just saw the new update and say they are putting ads into all the apps. That is so dumb i already pay a ton for my iphone and the last thing i want to see is a F****** Duracell bunny banging his drum across my iphone. Doesnt apply already make enough?

While there are ads in a lot of apps as-is, new ads are coming to iPhone applications via the new developer SDK iAd. This will allow developers to enhance the advertising experience on an iPhone, like using video, etc. It’s unfortunate, but a lot of developers pay for their free applications by having ads in their apps. This will give them more options for those ads. As far as I know, ads will not be just “coming to the iPhone”, meaning there shouldn’t be any ads that will be displaying while normally using your iPhone. The SDK is meant for developers to use only in their applications.

do those free sidekicks or iphone ads u see online really work?

i’ve seen lots and lots of ads that say free sidekick lx or free iphone and free ipod etc. i was just wondering if those things work and how can they give a way those things for FREE?

Yeah they are real and they do work, but you have to give your credit card info for the “free offers” and when you sign up for these free offers you have to call and cancel before then end of your free trial period, or else you will get billed a lot of money for crap you don’t want…

Like video professor… if you don’t cancel before the trial is up you will get charged like per lesson and they will keep sending them.

read what they will actually charge if you don’t cancel… it’s not really worth it. i wouldn’t do it. I heard a lot of stories about how people try to call and cancel and get the run around and they make it so hard for you to cancel that you just hang up.

don’t give these people your credit or debit card numbers… just go buy an iphone or sidekick… it will be cheaper in the end. You have to full fill so many offers before you get your “Free” product.
