I want the iPad 2, but I have to save my money. I’m counting on my birthday for money, but I’m planning on a netbook screen repair. I’m thinking of just not getting it repaired and using the iPad. But I’m not sure if it can access games and everything on the computer.

I have a wireless network set-up at home that both my laptop and iphone are successfully using.
Currently, my laptop only recognizes my iphone when connected by USB cable (in itunes).
How do I have my iphone recognized on my computer via wifi?

Youll have to purchase a program called “MobileMe” which will automatically sync your phone to your pc whenever your around it (around 0)

I would like to set up a computer lab of 8-10 mac computers that will serve approximately 180 students. Each student will maintain (with help, obviously) a portfolio of work done in art and music class. Therefore, I would like each student to have her own login ID and folder. Since the files will be audio and pictures, storage needs are high.

I will administer the network. I have mac experience, but I am not a sysadmin by any means. I can learn quickly and I am tech savvy, but I hold no illusions of becoming a Unix guru during this school year. The school will be able to get support for installation but I will need to run the thing myself.

Any ideas for hardware/software configurations are welcome. The workstations will likely be mac minis, other than that budget is not a huge issue.

All you’ll probably need will be your Macs, an Apple Airport Base Station, and a Server with Mac OS X server to hold all the files and accounts. You’ll have to make every student’s account 1 by 1, as far as I know.

I have the iTouch. When a new OS comes out, it is downloaded via the iTunes program and uploaded into the iTouch via the iTunes program. It does not to my knowledge have the ability to upgrade its own OS.

Is the iPad also dependent on a “mother” computer and iTunes on that computer to update its OS?

I have 2 iPhones and an iPod and have used iTunes for about 6 yrs now. You are only able to get software updates via syncing with iTunes. As far as I know it is only possible to update apps from the device itself- although you can also do that through iTunes, too. So to answer your question specifically… YES… you need iTunes for Mac or PC- they’re both free 🙂 Hope this helps!

I tried a third party software name Cucusoft iPhone/iTouch/iPod to Computer Transfer to extract the songs, videos, photos and playlist etc. from iPod to computer or iTunes.
