DONATE AN INSTRUMENT Did you know that Louis Armstrong’s first instrument was a used cornet that someone donated to him when he was a kid living in a New Orleans orphanage? In early November, Horns for Kids, the charitable arm of The Great Connecticut Jazz Festival, handed out 65 used instruments, a dozen of them here to local schools.
