How easy is it to break a iPod touch/iPhone screen?

Question by Dutchie: How easy is it to break a iPod touch/iPhone screen?
Im thinking about getting a iPhone and i was just wondering, out of the people whom own a iPod touch or iPhone have broken there screen?
Also how many times did you drop it and did it have a case on?

  1. I’ve had an ipod touch for around 6 months now, and i have dropped it a couple of times, but on its back with a case on. Many people say to me they’ve dropped it on the front and have cracked it, but it’ll still work. I recommend an iPhone. Just be careful with it 🙂
    PS: get a case

  2. Hi it al depend on where you drop the ipod/iphone i have fixed ipods and iphones and i realized that they were dropped on the sides or corners and they crack the screen but if you drop the ipod with the screen down it shouldn’t crack it unless you drop it on a rock or another sharp object. i would definitely recommend buying a good screen protector and a good case (preferable one that wraps around the edges a hard or silicone case is good the thicker the better) if you get a hard plastic case make shure it has a fabric liner in it because it could scratch the back of your ipod/iphone.

  3. They aren’t easy to break, especially the screen.
I think the only way you permanently damage the screen (to where it won’t work) is if you deliberately try to abuse the screen.
I haven’t dropped by my ipod mucch, but I have dropped on a hard marble kitchen floor with a case and it didn’t break. Also on a regular tile floor without cause and it didn’t break.
I have a friend whose ipod’s screen is cracked (like a broken mirror almost) and it still works.
