I don’t live in US, and the iPhone is not, and will probably never be, available in my country. So I might buy an unlocked one, so it wouldn’t have to work with AT&T. But I was wondering, what would be the inconvenients? What are the options that wouldn’t work on an unlocked iPhone OUTSIDE THE US? Would GPS work? Would google maps work? Would the internet work? etc. And are there any other risks/inconvenients for unlocking it?

I’ve unlocked my iPhone and it’s currently running on Vodafone. These pics are very blurry shots taken by my Panasonic X700 (I don’t have a camera), but I hope you can see that it says Vodafone in the corner. And to TUAW or anyone who wants to use this shot: Give me credit as "blah". Yes, I know that I’m being pretty hopeful, but if no one else has unlocked an iPhone yet, it’s possible!
